About
My Full name is Rebecca Nathalia Anzueto. I was born and raised in California and of Moroccan/Hispanic descent. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Animation with knowledge and practice in various Art related disciplines, such as Illustration, Design, Graphic Design, Web Design, and UI Design. I Integrate my Illustrative technique to tell various illustrative stories, through different visual lenses using vibrant colors, pen strokes and tones. My visual language ranges from imaginative to surreal and subjective; to informative and existential. My favorite medium I often use is ink or pens, I love using Micron Pens for my work as it brings versatility and efficiency to my illustrations.
I am greatly Influenced and inspired by Animation and Film. I am intrigued by storyboarding and writing. Writing a story and visualizing it, drawing each movement, character, camera and scene is so fascinating to me. Studio Ghibli Films are my favorite and I am greatly inspired by their work. I take inspiration from my ideas, music, intuitive thought, poets, writers and sometimes my dreams. I hope you witness my growth as an illustrator and story teller and are hopefully inspired to pursue greater passions and dreams in your life.
Q & A
Questions asked
I use photoshop and a Wacom tablet for any digital illustrations. For traditional mediums like pen or ink, I use Micron pens in the sizes of .005, 01, 03, 05 they tend to be my favorite, faber castell pens are also a great option for ink illustrations. For my watercolor illustrations I use Arches Hot press watercolor block and Daniel smith watercolors
A lot of my influences range from other artists, poets, writers, and music. I take something that inspires me even if it’s a simple phrase and I expand it to tell a narrative story. Other times it’s a word or visual picture in my mind. Inspiration comes and goes, so I like to take my thoughts captive and document them in my journal for future use. You never know what might come out of a simple thought of inspiration or a story concept.
My illustrative style is surreal and imaginative. It is story driven and displays a wide range of color palettes, that helps reveal the story in a visual language. My style is recognizable and involves pen techniques, lines and strokes often combined with mellow and vibrant colors. If not combined with colors, pens are involved that reveal strong and thin pen strokes which outline and contour the subject matter delicately with ease. Displaying a wide range of tones and shadows that underline and define the story waiting to be told.
Besides drawing and painting, I love screenwriting, film, poetry, music, airplanes, reading books, writing stories, exploring new places and learning new things.
I also really love Dogs!
